  • I manage, curate, and coordinate website and email campaign content, including web updates, events, forms, and landing pages. I oversee e-newsletters and email campaigns, driving engagement while developing and delivering reports on conversion goals, KPIs, and other metrics. I have been the project manager on website redesigns. I managed migrating our email campaigns to a robust, mobile-friendly/responsive platform. I developed and launched our SEO strategy, which helped dramatically increase year-over-year web traffic, and helped cement our online reputation as a source of expert content. And I broadened our metrics gathering to assist in strategic decision-making and guide future priorities and content development. Also, sometimes I put my HTML/CSS/JS skills to work.

  • I mainly managed the website, social media channels, and email marketing. I was also a copy editor and sometimes a writer, depending on what was needed. I oversaw the dramatic increase in social media engagement, and led the launch of our Instagram and Snapchat accounts to target prospective students. I managed our online ads, launched online marketing campaigns, and developed metrics-gathering standards, including Google Analytics reports. I provided training sessions to departments across campus, equipping staff with best practices for their parts of the umbrella website. Additionally, I periodically contributed articles to Saint Mary’s Magazine, highlighting stories that spotlighted the campus community.

  • My role centered on content creation on our website and digital channels, including writing and researching for national blogs and webpages. I managed the Sierra Club’s national Facebook channel, where our following and engagement levels dramatically increased. My work also involved managing e-newsletters, generating detailed reports on metrics, and using insights to optimize engagement. I ghostwrote and edited blog articles for our executives. I pitched stories and features to external blogs. I provided webinars to educate Club volunteers and staff. And I contributed to website enhancements by testing new web features to improve user experience.

  • I was an East Bay beat reporter for two years, covering everything from crime and breaking news to city councils and county supervisor meetings. In 2007, I was a peninsula reporter, mainly covering the county courthouse. After that I left newspapers to pursue opportunities in the non-profit sector.
